Sync to Your Calendar

Keep the latest Symposium schedule synced with your calendar!

iCalendar (*.ics extension) is a popular file format used to distribute calendar information between different applications over the internet. Space Symposium events and tracks are distributed in iCal format for the convenience of attendees. Instructions for setting up calendar feeds follow.

  1. Open the Calendar program (in Applications)

  2. From the File menu select New Calendar Subscription

  3. Enter the Feed URL in the field provided, then click Subscribe

  4. Change the name and color (optional), change the Location to On My Mac (important!), and update the Auto-refresh frequency to Every day (important!), then click OK


Outlook 2007

  1. From Tools menu, select Account Settings.

  2. Click on the Internet Calendars tab.

  3. Click the New button.

  4. Enter the Feed URL in the field provided, then click Add.

  5. If you would like, you can now choose another name for the calendar. Make sure the box is checked in the Update Limit section.


Outlook 2011

  1. Click on a Feed URL above and save the file when prompted.

  2. If the file did not automatically add the extension, rename the file so that it has .ics at the end (e.g., symposium-program.ics)

  3. In Outlook for Mac, at the bottom of the navigation pane, click Calendar.

  4. In the Finder, locate the .ics file, and drag the .ics file to the Outlook Calendar grid or list.

  5. Navigate to the correct time period and the events should appear in your calendar view.



  1. Click the down arrow next to Other Calendars.

  2. Choose Add by URL in the menu.

  3. Enter the Feed URL in the field provided.

  4. Click the Add Calendar button.
