Colonel Cary M. Belmear is the Deputy Chief of Staff at US Strategic Command’s Joint Functional Component Command for Integrated Missile Defense (JFCC-IMD).  He manages USAF/USSF manning and joint and missile defense training, exercises, and education for joint operators, planners, staff, and senior leaders.  He oversees the Department of Defense’s only Joint Center of Excellence and synchronizes exercises, modeling, and simulation support for the combatant commands.  Prior to his current assignment, he was a Command Center Director, a Liaison Officer, a Squadron Commander and an Operations Officer.  Colonel Belmear received his commission through ROTC in 1997 from the University of Nebraska.  He and his wife Natalie have two children, Carter and Mia.
