Mr. David Gauthier has over 26 years of experience in U.S. national security as an intelligence officer, technology innovator, and strategic leader. He is currently the Chief Strategy Officer of GXO, Inc., helping space industry innovators grow sustainable solutions for national security. He is also a Visiting Fellow for the National Security Institute at George Mason University.

Prior to his role with GXO Inc., Mr. Gauthier served as National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency’s (NGA’s) founding Director of Commercial Operations; responsible for discovering new commercial solutions and executing an annual budget over $500M. In 2020 he established and chaired the Intelligence Community’s Commercial Space Council, providing recommendations to the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI). He also served as NGA’s Chief Strategy Officer after his work with Activity- Based Intelligence and promotion to the Senior Executive Service in 2014. Throughout his career, Mr. Gauthier led intelligence programs and collection missions at NGA, ODNI, the Riverside Research Institute, DIA, and the U.S. Air Force gaining expertise in reconnaissance missions, OPIR operations, all- source intelligence, persistent GEOINT, and satellite imaging.

Mr. Gauthier earned M.S. degrees in both Aerospace Engineering and Telecommunications Science from the University of Colorado at Boulder and a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He is a graduate of leadership programs such as MIT Sloan’s Executive Education, DoD’s APEX, and ODNI’s Leading the IC; and is the recipient of several awards including a National Intelligence Professional Award, the NGA Director’s Medallion, and a 2022 Presidential Rank Award.
