LTC(P) Felix G. Torres was born and raised in Sacramento, California. He attended the New Mexico Military Institute where he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army Reserve. He then transferred into the California Army National Guard (CANG) and was assigned to the 1-184th IN BN (AASLT) as a rifle platoon leader. LTC Torres served in the 1-184th IN BN (AASLT) for 4 years in positions such as an anti-armor platoon leader and company training officer. He was accessed onto active duty in the Signal Corps in June 2003 and attended the Signal Officer Basic Course. Upon completion of the Signal Officer Basic Course, he was assigned to the 11th Signal Brigade out of Fort Huachuca, AZ where he served as a Medium Data Package Platoon Leader and Company XO, then as the BN S-1.

Fort Riley, KS: BN SIGO for 1-41 IN, 3/1 AD; Signal CO CDR 2/1 ID (Deployed)

Stuttgart, Germany: SOCAFRICA as the Joint Special Operations Task Force – Trans

Sahara J6 and as a Communications Plans Officer for SOCAFRICA J-6

Fort Leavenworth, KS: Resident Command and General Staff College

Fort Carson, CO: BDE S-6, 3/4 ID (deployed to Kuwait as CENTCOM reserve ABCT)

Camp Smith, HI: Satellite Communications Chief INDOPACOM J-6

Fort Leavenworth, KS: G-6 Mission Command Center of Excellence

Peterson Space Force Base, CO: Deputy Chief, Army Space Training Division

Awards and decorations include:

The Bronze Star Medal, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal (2OLC), the Meritorious Service Medal (3OLC), the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, the Joint Meritorious Unit Award (2OLC), the Meritorious Unit Commendation, the Superior Unit Award, the National Defense Service Medal, the Iraqi Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon, and the Parachutist Badge.

LTC Torres is currently serving as the Commandant of the Army Space and Missile Defense School under the Space and Missile Defense Center of Excellence.

LTC Torres is married to the former Jill Krauel of Santa Rosa, California. They have four children: Lilliana (17), Addyson (14), Melanie (12), and Christopher (10).
