Tahara Dawkins joined Astroscale in December 2024 as Director of Policy to shape forward-looking policies and address policy and regulatory challenges of the complex and dynamic on-orbit servicing market. With more than 25 years of experience in shaping U.S. space policy and regulatory frameworks, Dawkins is a recognized leader in advancing American priorities and ensuring the Nation’s preeminence in space.
Most recently, Dawkins served as Chief of Staff of the National Space Council at the White House under the Biden-Harris administration, where she played a critical role in advising the Vice President of the United States on policies and strategies to advance U.S. leadership in civil, commercial and national security space sectors.
She also served as Director of Commercial Remote Sensing Regulatory Affairs within the U.S. Department of Commerce, where she led efforts to modernize regulations that supported U.S. industry growth. She has also held senior roles at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, where she helped advance U.S. national security objectives through the integration of commercial and government space capabilities.
Dawkins holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Maryland and brings significant expertise in space policy development, regulation and strategy execution.
