Nathan (Nate) O’Konek is the Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Redwire Corporation (NYSE: RDW) in Jacksonville, FL. With offices across the US and in Europe, Redwire is a global leader in mission critical space solutions and high reliability components for the next generation space economy, with valuable intellectual property for solar power generation, in-space 3D printing and manufacturing, avionics, critical components, sensors, digital engineering and space-based biotechnology.

With over fifteen years of experience in the public and private sectors, Mr. O’Konek is an experienced general counsel, compliance lead, and board advisor. In current and prior roles with growing businesses, Mr. O’Konek has been responsible for all legal, risk, and compliance matters. Since moving in-house his primary responsibilities have been advising boards and executive leadership in the aerospace and defense industries.

Mr. O’Konek is the recipient of multiple NASA team awards for successful flight demonstrations of innovative precision landing technologies. He is a member of the commercial advisory board of the Lunar Exploration Analysis Group and the International Institute of Space Law. Prior to joining Redwire, Mr. O’Konek held senior positions in the aerospace industry supporting space technology development activities for civil and Department of Defense agencies and was a member of Space Florida’s commercial space investment team at the Cape Canaveral Spaceport.

Nate was previously a member of the corporate and capital markets practice groups in the London and New York offices of the law firm Latham & Watkins. Mr. O’Konek is an honors graduate of Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota and the University of Minnesota Law School, where he served on the editorial board of the Minnesota Law Review and was a Royal A. Stone Memorial Scholar and honors graduate.
