Gary Testut
Vice President, Space Systems

Gary Testut is vice president of Space Systems in the Space & Mission Systems sector of BAE Systems, Inc. In this role, Testut leads the team responsible for all aspects of business capture, execution and growth to meet the requirements of customers within the space community. He is responsible for overseeing the space-related business units in the company including Civil Space, National Space and Military Space.
Most recently, Testut was the vice president and general manager of the National Space business unit. Previously, he served in government relations at BAE Systems, Inc., representing the company to senior government leaders and customers in Washington, D.C.
Testut retired from the United States Air Force in 2009 after serving 20 years in a variety of acquisition, intelligence and space-related assignments. He served as a liaison between the Pentagon and the U.S. Congress as special assistant for space, intelligence and cyber programs in the office of the assistant secretary of defense for legislative affairs. His experience in the National Capital Region began in 1998 and included work as a legislative liaison at the National Reconnaissance Office. Testut also served as a test director and chief systems engineer during his time in the Air Force.
Testut volunteered as a member of the executive committee of the Intelligence and National Security Alliance and as a corporate representative to the Aerospace Industries Association’s Space Systems Division. He also served as chair of the National Defense Industrial Association’s Space Division and president and board member of the National Space Club and Foundation.
Testut received a B.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Massachusetts and an M.S. in engineering management from Western New England College.
