Grayson Ardies has served the citizens of Oklahoma and the Aviation and Aerospace community at large through his work at the Oklahoma Department of Aerospace and Aeronautics beginning as an intern in 2009 and eventually working his way to becoming the Executive Director in November of 2020. During his time at the Oklahoma Department of Aerospace and Aeronautics, Grayson has conducted and overseen numerous projects and processes including an Aerospace and Aviation Economic Impact Study, legislation to protect military training airspace, the Department’s Five-Year Airport Construction Program, airport inspections, airspace zoning reviews, and more. In 2020, he received the prestigious State Aviation Distinguished Service Award from the National Association of State Aviation Officials (NASAO), and was also listed in the Power 15 List for Aviation and Aeronautics in Oklahoma by the Journal Record. Grayson holds a degree in Aviation Management with double minors in Business Administration and Air Traffic Control from the University of Oklahoma. He also holds a commercial pilot’s license with single and multi-engine instrument ratings and is a certified flight instructor.
