Guy de Carufel is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Cognitive Space, a Houston, TX based company focused on unlocking the full use of space through AI. Before starting Cognitive Space in 2018 in Houston, Guy was an award-winning NASA engineer, GNC engineer at Firefly and systems engineer at the Space Flight Lab. Guy grew up in Canada, where he gained his private pilot license at 17, was a top 100 astronaut candidate and completed his master’s degree in aerospace engineering at the University of Toronto. He is passionate about the expansion of human activity into space, the immense value it brings here on Earth and how AI will play a pivotal role in unlocking its full potential. In his capacity as CEO, he sets the overall strategic and business direction of the company to maximize our contribution to society and national security.
