Nikol Koleva

Nikol Koleva is a dynamic professional with a passion for merging psychology and space exploration. She currently serves as the Executive Director of the Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC), where she leads initiatives to engage and empower young professionals in the space sector.

Prior to her current role, Nikol was working at the World Space Week Association (WSWA) as an intern and progressed to leadership roles including Communications and Media Director and External Relations Manager. In these capacities, she enhanced communication strategies, forged media partnerships, and represented WSWA at global forums like the UN COPUOS and IAF-related activities.

During her academic career, she focused on researching the Overview Effect among astronauts and exploring their experiences using qualitative approaches. Her interest led her to investigate the potential therapeutic benefits of virtual reality (VR) in replicating the Overview Effect for her Master’s work. Nikol holds a BA in Psychology from City University of London and an MA in Counseling Psychology from Webster University.
