Wolfgang Duerr is Vice President and Head of Global Business Institutional Space at Airbus Defence and Space, located in Bremen/Germany. He covers the Airbus Space Systems portfolio/business with focus on the European Space Agency (ESA), the European Union (EU), the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), and other Space Agencies around the globe.

He is Member of the Board of Directors of the U.S. based “Space Foundation”, and Chairman of the Committee for Military Space at the German Aerospace Association (BDLI).

He held several executive positions at Airbus Defence and Space and the former EADSAstrium, including an assignment to Airbus North America.in Washington DC from 2015- 2018. He represented Airbus in the Board of Directors of the German American Business Council (GABC) from 11/2015 12/2019 and was President of Euro2Moon from 10/2021-03/2024.

Before joining EADS/Airbus in 2008, he served for more than 20 years in the German Air Force/ Luftwaffe in national/ international operational, staff, and commanding assignments. He retired after a distinguished military career and is still an Officer of the Reserve Corps in the rank of Colonel (GS).

Wolfgang Duerr holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of the German Armed Forces Munich, and a Master of Military Operational Art and Science, from the Air University of the United States Air Force in Montgomery/AL, USA. He graduated from the Senior Leadership Course (SP12) of the Federal Academy for Security Policy (BAKS) in Berlin by invitation of the Chancellors Office.
