Nate O’Konek is General Counsel of Neo Space Group, where he oversees legal, compliance, risk management and corporate governance matters and leads the execution of complex strategic transactions. Neo Space Group is focused on providing compelling customer solutions in the satellite communications, geospatial and IoT services domains. NSG aspires to own and operate a growing number of satellites and ground stations to support the provision of these services. NSG also operates a corporate venture capital fund, supporting new space technologies in their growth journey. Headquartered in Riyadh, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, NSG is a PIF company, and an essential enabler of PIF’s strategy to contribute to transforming the economy, supporting innovation and job creation in line with Vision 2030.
Prior to Joining NSG, Nate was the executive vice president, general counsel and secretary of Redwire Corporation (NYSE:RDW) where he served as a named executive officer and led the company’s integration, corporate development and legal efforts and oversaw strategic initiatives to support company growth, including multiple acquisitions and the company’s listing on the NYSE. Prior to joining Redwire, Nate held senior positions in the aerospace industry, supporting space technology development activities for civil and Department of Defense agencies and was member of Space Florida’s commercial space investment team at the Cape Canaveral Spaceport. Nate was previously a member of the corporate and capital markets practice groups in the London and New York offices of the law firm Latham & Watkins.
Nate is a graduate of Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota and the University of Minnesota Law School where he served on the editorial board of the Minnesota Law Review and was a Royal A. Stone Memorial Scholar.
Nate is the recipient of multiple NASA team awards for successful flight demonstrations of innovative precision landing technologies, has served as a director and officer of multiple aerospace businesses throughout the US, Europe and MENA and is a member of the International Institute of Space Law.
