Brett Silcox is the Vice President of Government Relations for Astroscale U.S.  In this role, he is responsible for the development and execution of the company’s government relations strategy, engagement with Congress and the White House, and oversight of efforts to inform and shape on-orbit servicing policy and programs.

Mr. Silcox previously held the position of Director of Government Relations at BWX Technologies, Inc. (BWXT). His mission was to expand space applications for nuclear systems by engaging Congress and the Administration which led to programs of record.

Mr. Silcox joined BWXT in 2017 after serving seven years as a Presidential Obama Appointee at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), where he was the Manager of External Outreach and Legislative Affairs for the newly created Space Technology Mission Directorate. In this role, he was a member of the senior leadership team that shaped the creation of the Space Technology Mission Directorate. He also served as the Executive Officer for the NASA Deputy Administrator and was the Industry and Congressional liaison in the Office of Legislative and Intergovernmental Affairs.

Prior to joining NASA, Mr. Silcox served as the Acting Executive Director for the National Space Society, the leading grassroots space advocacy group in the world.

Mr. Silcox earned his Master of Public Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in criminal justice from Kent State University. Mr. Silcox is currently a member of the board of directors for American Astronautical Society and the Future Space Leaders Foundation.
