De’Schzunell “DJ” Catlin is a “40under40” recognized entrepreneur, engineer, and leader with a solid footing in business development and engineering. Renowned for his fervent dedication to innovation and growth, he co-founded The Equity Space Alliance, a pioneering company focused on advocating, educating, and facilitating equitable ownership and diverse participation in the space industry.

Catlin’s extensive experience includes over a decade at NASA, contributing significantly to Aerospace Research and Development, leading groundbreaking projects such as the SOFIA Space Science missions and initiatives in Earth Observation technology aimed at combating global warming.

His academic journey encompasses an Applied Physics study at Morehouse College, a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering from the University of Antelope Valley, and a Master’s in Global Management from ASU’s Thunderbird School of Global Management, further enriched by a Venture Finance Certification from UC Berkeley School of Law.

Throughout his illustrious career, Catlin has held pivotal roles, including Aerospace Engineer, Engineering Manager, and Senior Flight Test Operations Engineer, marking notable contributions such as unveiling water on the moon’s sunlit surface and pioneering NASA’s inaugural Distributed Electrical Propulsion aircraft. Beyond his technical achievements, he stands out as a passionate advocate for small businesses and space policy, advising on Biden-Harris Administration and National Space Council initiatives.
