Lt. Col. Lisa A. Baghal, USSF

Chief, Combatant Command Integration
Space Systems Command

Lt Col Lisa A. Baghal currently serves as Chief, Combatant Command Integration, Space Systems Command, Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado. As the liaison to US Space Command, she is responsible for enhancing utility of space systems by bridging the gap between the operational and acquisition communities.

Lt Col Baghal received her Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Kansas and was commissioned through the Air Force ROTC program in 2004. She received a Master of Science degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the Air Force Institute of Technology and a Master of Science degree in Military Operational Art and Science from Air Command and Staff College. Lt Col Baghal has served in a variety of space-related acquisition assignments, as well as an Air Staff tour as Chief, Acquisition Oversight Secretariat, and was deployed to the Combined Security Transition Command in Kabul, Afghanistan, where she managed a $13B Afghan Air Force aviation modernization portfolio.

Lt Col Baghal’s first assignment was as a systems engineer and satellite operations lead for the Air Force Research Laboratory, responsible for development, launch and operations of a responsive space technology demonstration. She then served at the National Reconnaissance Office developing a next-generation electro- optical sensor suite, and at Space and Missile Systems Center as the Geosynchronous Space Situational Awareness Program (GSSAP) Deputy Program Manager, responsible for an operational space superiority system spanning all phases of the acquisition lifecycle. She is a graduated Materiel Leader of the Rapid Reaction Branch, where she led a high caliber team delivering Quick Reaction Capabilities in response to Combatant Command urgent operational requirements.
