Rosalind Lewis is the general manager of the Special Programs Division at The Aerospace Corporation. In this role, Lewis leads Aerospace’s support to the United States Space Force’s Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC) Special Programs Corps in the areas of space domain awareness and integrated battle management and control systems. This includes acquisition of ground and space segments; future architecture definition; and research and technology for the next generation of space superiority capabilities for the Space Force.

Most recently, Lewis was principal director of the Acquisition Analysis and Planning Subdivision in Aerospace’s Engineering and Technology Group (ETG), leading four departments in acquisition decision analysis; industrial base, cost, schedule, and risk analysis; systems engineering; and program execution support. Lewis initially came to Aerospace in 1987 as a member of the technical staff in the Software Development Department. She held positions of increasing responsibility including project engineer in the Defense Dissemination Program; and senior project engineer and senior project leader in the Air Force Satellite Control Network (AFSCN) and Spacelift Range (SLR) program.

Prior to that, Lewis joined RAND Corporation in 1999 as a senior engineer supporting studies on acquisition, development, and space protection. In 2005 Lewis returned to Aerospace as systems director of the Cost and Requirements Department in ETG. Prior to Aerospace, Lewis was a senior engineer with Litton Guidance and Control Systems.

Education – Lewis has a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Southern California (USC), a master’s degree in computer science from New York University, and a master’s degree in systems architecture and engineering from USC.

Affiliations – Lewis is a member of the International Council on Systems Engineering.
