Joe Morrison is Vice President and General Manager of Remote Sensing at Umbra. He spearheads the delivery of high-quality SAR data solutions to clients across the globe, bringing a wealth of experience and a strategic vision to Umbra’s Remote Sensing initiatives.
Prior to joining Umbra, Joe worked at Azavea, gaining firsthand experience as a satellite imagery customer. He also served as Umbra’s VP of Growth and VP of Commercial Product, playing an instrumental role in shaping the company’s product development and customer engagement strategies.
Joe is a vocal advocate for transparent pricing, open data policies, and easier access to SAR data within the satellite imagery industry. He shares his insights through blogs, podcasts, and interviews, fostering a dialogue on how to improve the accessibility and usability of satellite imagery.
With a Bachelors of Arts in Religion from Davidson College, Joe brings a unique perspective to the geospatial field. He is dedicated to unlocking the full potential of SAR technology for government, mapping, monitoring, and emergency response applications, driving Umbra’s mission to provide innovative and impactful solutions to the world’s most pressing challenges, reliably.
