Dr. Francis Nimmo

Prof. Francis Nimmo is a planetary scientist at the University of California

Santa Cruz. He has served on the GRAIL, Cassini, New Horizons and InSight spacecraft missions, and is a team member on four instruments on the upcoming Europa Clipper mission. He is an author on more than 200 publications and was elected to the US National Academy of Sciences in 2020. He served on the Steering Committee of the 2023–2032 Planetary Science and Astrobiology Decadal Survey and co-led the Decadal Study on the Uranus Orbiter and Probe. Prof Nimmo did both his undergraduate and graduate work at the University of Cambridge, UK.
