Richard Cartwright is a member of the senior professional staff at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory, working in the Civil Space Flight mission area. He is a Solar System astronomer who uses data collected by ground and space-based telescopes and spacecraft to investigate the geologic and compositional links between the surfaces, atmospheres, and interiors of icy bodies. He is working on the formulation of the science goals and instrument requirements for a flagship orbiter to explore the Uranus system and the Solar System observing objectives for the Habitable Worlds Observatory.
